About Me
Born and raised in Buxton, nestled in the heart of the Peak District, my photography journey began during my teenage years. My first camera was a Pentax ME Super, and within just a few months I had set up my own darkroom. I spent countless hours developing and printing my own black and white photographs using a Zenith enlarger. Soon afterwards, I expanded my skills to include developing colour slides, which was far more affordable than printing colour photographs at the time. Photography has been a constant interest throughout my life, sometimes taking a backseat but never fading entirely. However, my passion truly reignited during the first Covid-19 lockdown in 2020, when I found solace and inspiration behind the lens once again.
My passion lies in capturing photographs in any form, but I am particularly drawn to landscapes. I feel fortunate to live within the stunning Peak District National Park, where no matter what the season or time of year, there is always something beautiful to photograph. I find it deeply rewarding when I capture an image that faithfully represents the scene or moment — especially in an environment that is constantly changing with the seasons. Each photograph freezes a unique “moment in time.” For me, landscape photography is endlessly enjoyable because every walk or expedition with my camera holds the promise of new and unexpected discoveries. You never quite know what you might capture next, and that element of surprise is what keeps me motivated to get out and explore.
